Gosh, March already. There’s so much happening. This morning, a dear friend, Han, came into the shop. For N16 regulars, you will remember that Han owned the lovely Homa Restaurant for a period of time, before moving back to his first love of fashion. Specifically, he now has the beautiful ‘Blackhorse Lane Atelier’, producing and selling fantastic denim from his shops in Kings Cross and the West End. We reminded ourselves that time has flown by, and we haven’t been out for around two years. We set a date! After nearly fifteen years at N16 and twelve years at NW5, we have made loads of contacts and great friends, and it creates a fantastic environment of camaraderie and good spirit for us all to work in. As March arrives with St David’s Day, then moves on to St Patrick’s Day before tailing off the month with Mother’s Day, it’s all pretty full on, and off duty, you might just find us in the local cafes and pubs kicking back and enjoying time with other local traders. It’s what work/life balance is all about.
Sorry, no Liquor …
The first week of March is British Pie Week, and we have a price promotion across the shops. During last year, we signed on with the delightful Team at Willy’s Pies of London Fields. They produce delicious pies in four recipes. They source top quality ingredients and make no apology if their pies cost a little more than others on the market. They’re worth it. We stock all four flavours in each of the shops, and, at Meat N16 where we have a little more space, we serve Hot Pies from Tuesday until Sunday, 12noon till 3pm. I am happy to note that the offer has proved extremely popular.
So, here’s an early diary date; to celebrate British Pie Week, Liz is hosting a Pie, Mash and Gravy lunch in the Meat N16 Garden, on Friday 6th March. The garden is looking splendid, the pie, mash and gravy are going to be plentiful, and the Team will be ready by 12 noon. First come, first served (£10.00). We have 18 seats, and we’ll turn them as often as we can. If all this is not exciting enough, we will also be unveiling Liz’s brand new team mate for 2026, Veya. Come and say hello.

Junior Art, too much Chocolate and Lamb…
What do all three of the above have in common? That’s right, it must be Easter! Although the Easter weekend will be the 4th to 7th of April, those planning on having a sumptuous Lamb lunch on Easter Sunday, will need to consider placing an order in the coming weeks. The lamb is of great quality at the moment. I have noted before that this is my favourite time of year for lamb. As the animals creep towards the one year stage, the meat is a little darker, with extra flavours, but still soft and succulent. The butchers are already taking orders and can advise on specific cuts and sizes to ensure that everybody gets just what they want.
It’s also time for possibly our favourite event of the year. The kids Easter Drawing and Painting competition is underway. Pop into the shops and pick up an entry form. We ask that the children paint the Easter Chick or the Easter Bunny, and we create a fun wall full of wonderful art in each shop. There are two age categories, so everyone can join in. Every entry wins a prize, and the pictures will be judged on Good Friday by our independent judges. The winners and runners up will be rewarded with Craig’s Easter Hamper. It’s a great fun competition with few rules. To be fair to everyone, the pictures must feature a Chick or a Bunny, and we stick to A4 paper size to make it equal for all.
Pens, pencils and paints at the ready. Let’s get going.
… and ‘too much chocolate’? There’s no such thing

Boxing clever ...
I wouldn’t swear to it, but I’m sure the temperature has eased over the last few days. Dare we hope that the worst of winter is behind us and that Spring is on its way. Well, the Crocus are up and the Daffs are in fine spirit for St David’s Day, so maybe we could think about sparking up the BBQ. Which is why I would remind you of our Mail Order delivery offer. A quick visit to our website and a browse around our Online shop, will offer the opportunity of putting together an exciting range of our finest products, to be over-night couriered to your front door, or maybe consider sending a special gift to family or friends around Britain. Those poor souls who otherwise wouldn’t enjoy the delights of Meat London. The Events Team can have your order packed, chilled and delivered within 48 hours. A Butterflied Leg of Lamb for all the family, a Marinated Spatchcock Chicken or Sticky Ribs and Spicy wings, we do it all. If you don’t see what you want on our list, I suggest that you call the shops so that we can discuss what you want, and make sure it arrives as quickly as possible.
