Early in 2016, we were invited to trade on the market place in the middle of Enfield High Street. The market trades for three days a week (Thursday, Friday and Saturday). It appeared to be a good opportunity, and we were made very welcome by all concerned. Unfortunately, the market wasn’t for us, but we really liked Enfield. We stopped trading on the market and, after a short while, we found a permanent site. 38 Church Street was destined to become Meat EN2.
For a number of reasons, it was a difficult project. I curse the inventor of asbestos on a daily basis, but our friends at Threshold Interiors designed and created a very beautiful shop for us. On this occasion we have tried to soften the interior with rustic shelves of reclaimed wood and cooling granite work tops, and our illuminated cow is reason enough to visit the shop.
We offer a full selection of Free Range British meat. Beef from Speyside in Scotland, Lamb from Devon and Cornwall, Pork from the South Downs and Poultry from Essex. Our Sausages and Burgers are made in-house and vary weekly. During the Game Season we have a full selection of feathered and furred game from the Yorkshire Moors. With the summer months upon us, we have an endless selection of treats for the BBQ. Our Team of top quality Butchers prepare the meat to our customer’s specification and are always ready with tips on getting the best out of the cut or joint, cooking times and methods and a good ear for those who have questions or tales.
Our Deli counter carries a selection of English and international cooked and air cured hams, savoury pies, pork pies, sausage rolls, scotch eggs, salami and so much more. Our Cheese fridges is crammed with the best that Britain and Europe has to offer and, to make sure that nothing is missing, we have a Wine Room stocked with an eclectic selection from around the world that we can match to our meats
We like Enfield and we believe that we have a shop with something for everyone. Our friendly, professional Team are always on hand to offer advice, and for those visiting at the weekend, we will have regular tastings of our wines of the week.
